My lil suga plum boo boo
Back on June 1st I had my son, Jatiahn Dylan, and he was a biggie. I was told by my Dr that since I had Gestational Diabetes my baby was gonna be big and he may come earlier than May 31st. Well he got 1 out of 2 right. My baby was 9lbs 3oz and no C Section.
The Positives of GD
Controlled eating means my weight would also be controlled. I only gained 23lbs but you would not know that by looking at me. I was ALL belly. Family was convinced I was having twins.
If I didn’t keep my sugars in check I would risk having a stillborn. I already lost 2 babies was not looking forward to losing another. So that really got my attention.
Recovery & Body
I have heard that the recovery was worse than labor & delivery itself. I had a 2nd degree tear so I was stitched up pretty good. I had to wait for those bad boys to dissolve whiich would take 6-8 weeks. No baths only showers…I like my hot baths where I can have my wine & Spotify. The recovery time went smoothly.
My body actually bounced back real fast. Like within 4 weeks I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans. What also helped was I purchased a Belly Bandit & Mother Tucker Leggings from Belly Bandit. THEY WORK! Even if you are working out and want a smaller waist/legs but boost that bootie you gotta get that combo. I wear those 2 together and it keeps me nice and snug.
My goal is to lean up & lose weight. I have always had success with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Its only 20 minutes long but it kicks your coolie. I have seen results as soon as a week!
Experts state that getting in shape is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. So meal prep is on the table so to speak. My Starbucks order is now a sugar free skinny caramel macchiatto. I was hesitant at first but I had them while I was pregnant and they are tasty!!!!
My hubby and I decided that Sunday will be Meal Prep day. Oh yea he gained weight while I was pregnant so he is on this journey as well.
So wish us luck…and if any of you have some tips let me know!
